Monks lost to Headrush 5-4 in an error-strewn game. The wind and rain didn't do anyone any favours! We were then faced with the prospect of playing tribal thingy, but on discovering that it made no difference - we both end up in the same pool - we decided to go home rather than get even wetter. Being the good chaps we are, we "threw" the game in tribal's favour, and hence become seed number 12. We will be gunning for 5th next weekend - we're not dead yet! On reflection, I'm not entirely happy about a tournament schedule where one game is so terribly crucial for two teams and insufficient time is allowed to play the game out. Our regional had no half-times (or time-outs) which makes winning/losing the toss a bit vital. [Not that I'm making excuses, Monks played dreadfully and had plenty of opportunities to win the game.] High standards must be set for games which are self-evidently going to be important, even if they can't be applied to all games in a busy tournament.
