Well the time has come to take what we do outdoors and see how we fair. Block Stack have made three videos of indoor tournaments in 2001 which were very successful. Technically they were fairly simple but they showed the sport in an excellent light and proved what could be done on a very limited budget. This time we are going to be a bit more ambitious. Here's the plan. The Block Stack cameras will be based on one pitch. We'll call this the feature pitch. This will include a 6-8m camera tower pitch side and a 15m mobile platform for one of the end zones. There will also be a third camera at ground level for close ups and action shots. This is all cut together live. If you play a game on the feature pitch you will be able to buy a copy of the game for £15. We will also have two roving cameras capturing action from all the other games and also the atmosphere of a big Ultimate tournament. We will then cut together a 75-90 min highlight video similar to the UPA video that some of you may have seen. This will include the best bits from the feature pitch including final highlights as well and action from the rest of the tournament. This video will cost £12.50 or £10 if you preorder your copy on the weekend. If you want to buy your game from the feature pitch and the highlight video, this will be available for £20. We aim to be value for money. That’s what we are doing, here's where we need your help. TEAM SHEETS To help with commentary, we need team sheets for each team. Email your team sheet to tom@block-stack.co.uk before Wednesday and I'll do my best to learn names. Team sheets should include: Some Information about the team the more the better, Full Player name spelt correctly (they will be used for captions) Nick name Shirt number Distinctive physical features (hair colour, glasses, knee or elbow supports) The more information you can give the more personal the video will be to your team. CAMERAS and CAMERAMEN/WOMEN Do you have a Digital Video Camera. Can you get access to university video cameras etc. If you do and are prepared to lend it to us for the weekend we will give you a free copy of the video and our eternal gratitude and friendship. If you are unable to play through injury or other reasons, but still intend to be at tour three and would like to volunteer for a few games worth of camera duties, please drop me a line. ORIGINAL MUSIC In order to make the video more engaging we hope to use music. However to pay for the copyright of major artists costs too much money, so we are again, asking for your help. If you have recorded some music as part of a band or on your own computer we'd love to use it as part of the video. Drop me a line if you are interested. If you have any questions or would like to offer help of any form then please drop me a line or give me a call 07753 827702.
