Don't do it!" Assuming the student egroup and Britdisc don't have exactly the same members/subscribers, I feel cross posting does serve a purpose and is inevitable. At the same time, I do agree that on occasions cross posting is unnecessary. From my own experience, I occasionally post messages to both groups because I would like both communities of subscribers to have the opportunity to receive the information. Again, I am assuming the student egroup and Britdisc don't have exactly the same members/subscribers. My email contributions are generally directed to people within the UK who share a passion for flying discs and flying disc sports. Naturally I want the emails to touch as many UK disc enthusiasts as possible, this is my reason for posting messages to both egroups. I would suggest that if information is relevant to a student egroup and a general egroup (Britdisc) then it should be shared across both groups. I don't see any reason why those who only subscribe to one egroup should be denied the opportunity to receive information if it is relevant to them. If the members/subscribers to both egroups are exactly the same however, I would suggest that is a separate issue. Email is an unbelievable tool for supporting the disc community, however it has it's faults. Generally speaking, for those who care about knowing what's going on, Britdisc and Student Ultimate provide an effective service to their respective communities.
