I used to work for a leisure Company, we always had to factor insurance costs into out tender bids, then passed this cost on to our customers through the hire charge. If they continue to press you for this I'd go elsewhere as they are trying to diddle you and the insurance could be quite expensive. Do you means potential damage to the venue? Layout Dreams and/or Fluid Druids (my experiences as TD) have never been required to have any insurance for the potential for damage to the site(s) they've used. I'd have figured that grounds available to hire for sports would be covered for this sort of thing already, and build the costs into their hire charges? Someone official at UKU may know more...?
