If the Sports Council thought for a moment that we would just lie down and roll over, they would be sorely mistaken! I will summarise the input from BD readers and the very positive suggestions from the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR) in another post later in the week. But first I wanted to explain my current thinking on the logistics side of things and then ask for people to contact me directly if they wish to volunteer. I agree strongly with the suggestion (by at least one BD reader) that the BFDF should create a new position to oversee development issues such as SC recognition. I will seek formal approval for such a post at the next BFDF Board Meeting (or AGM, whichever is the sooner), but in the meantime I feel we should strike while the iron is hot. I would like someone to take on the Development Officer role in an informal capacity for the time being so that we can agree a campaign agenda and set about executing it. WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO ACT AS THE BFDF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER? If so, please reply to me direct in the next few days so that we can start the ball rolling - I hope to be able to announce the outline plan early next week (preferably during Monday, 26 May). [Mention any relevant experience, your contact details and any other information you think is pertinent]. Please do not let last week's enthusiasm for action fizzle out - I must apologise for not posting this earlier, but I have been ill in bed for the last two days. Thanks again for your support. Sam Neilson National Director of the BFDF.
