My club, the Bongos Disc Sports Club (supported by the BDGA), has made an 'Awards For All' application to fund a project to install a public disc golf course in Ealing, West London. I'm sure there must be other UK flying disc clubs that may have ideas that would benefit from this funding opportunity. "The main aim of the Awards For All is to support projects which are open and accessible to the community, allowing people to enjoy a wide range of activities. The fund supports projects which enable people to take part in sport, art, heritage and community activities, as well as projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community." Grant applications must be between £500.00 and £5,000.00 Only available to non-profit making clubs/organisations. I received a lot of support and guidance from my local council regarding the application. There is definitely a formula which if followed will give your application a much better chance of success. I am very happy to pass on what I know to any clubs who are interested. At the very least your club/organisation will need a constitution and a bank account. I have a template for a club constitution that anyone is welcome to use. If anyone wants to apply for a grant to install a public disc golf course then you can use my application as a guide. After 5 years of hassling Ealing Council they have finally come round and have given the Bongos their full support to introduce the UK's only public disc golf course in the Capital. All we need is the money! If anyone is interested here's the contact details. tel 0845 600 2040 (just ask for an Awards For All Application Pack) Hope this is useful to someone. Maybe see you at the Bongos Disc Sports Weekend 0n 2/3 March in Aylesbury www.discgolf.co.uk/doubles Regards, Richard Sampson BDGA Communications 020 8575 1564 07989 406256 :::o:::::::::o::::::::::::::::::::::o:::::o::::::::::::: ::: do you disc? www.discsports.co.uk ::: :::::::o::::::::o::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::o:::::::
