Congratulations to Sublime for coming second at last weekend's qualification event and 'respect' for travelling up to London two weekends on the trot to play the outdoor version of our beloved game. Hammerage won the event and take 7th seed as a result - they're now gunning for Fever's 6th place to get revenge for Fever knocking them into the qualifiers... Seeding order is as finishing order last time (including qualifier): Clapham 1, Clapham 2, Druids, Sharks, Smash & Grab, Fever, Hammerage, Sublime. Only the team that finishes 8th will be relegated to Division 2 for Matchday 3 on 13/1. Goal difference WILL be added to the points tally as last time. We're playing 8 team knockout this time around, but will revert to pools next time. I think we can start at 10.30 and easily finish in light: 10.00am Captain's meeting. 10.30am 1st round: Clapham 1/Sublime, Clapham 2/Hammerage, Druids/Fever, Sharks/Smash & Grab. Games to 15. 1 hour to cap. 12.00am 2nd round: 1v4, 2v3, 5v8, 6v7. Games to 17. 1 hour 15 mins to cap. 13.45pm Finals round: 1v2, 3v4, 5v6, 7v8. Games to 19. 1 hour 30 mins to cap. 15.30pm Adjourn to the George for muchos beer and Man U vs Arsenal. Bring cones please the usual coneheads! It'll be cold probably and might rain so bring bin liners for your kit and warm playing gear, tights and extra socks if you want to join Si Hill's ballet chorus. MATCHDAY 3 is set for Sunday 13th January and yes, there will be 2 Divisions!!! CloudThings, Discdoctors and BadHabits will contest Division 2 somewhere in North London with the relegated team from Matchday 2 Division 1. The winning team will be promoted to Division 1 for Matchday 4 sometime in February. This event can handle some more teams if anyone else wants to get involved, just mail me at this address. We'd love this to grow into a competition with 2 8-team Divisions by next winter but need your support. HAT TOURNAMENT! For those not on a Winter League team this Sunday, that wonderful cheeky chappy Mungo of BadHabits is running a hat tournament in London. Anyone interested will need to turn up around 10:45. Bring dark and light shirts. Location is the south side of hyde park beside South Carriage Drive. Nearest tube Knightsbridge, walk up to the edge of Hyde Park (under Bowater House) and turn left along the edge of the park. Pitches will be somewhere between a Pony enclosure and the tennis courts near the Albert memorial. Any queries? Email me at mungo.sheppard@camden.gov.uk during working hours or call me on 07968 435 380 at any time. Now that the globe has sufficiently warmed, the UK is an all year outdoor Ultimate kind of place! WAHEY! Results will follow on Monday.
