Disc Golf was selected as first sport to feature in this section. It is a short factual piece with a picture of me putting and paragraphs on what the game is about, basic rules, where it is played, equipment and contact address. The next edition of GQ Active should feature an article by me on "How To Throw A Frisbee" Quite separately, following my success in winning the Belgian Open I contacted the local press and stories appeared in the Coventry Evening Telegraph and Leamington Spa Courier. Publicity for the British Open should be easier to get following a call earlier this week from an american golfer. He and a friend are planning to fly over specially to play the Open! Quite impressive in itself, but his friend is Bob Vanderboss former PDGA World Champion (Masters Division) Publicity and big names are very welcome but we actually need to grow the sport at the grass roots level - if you are an Ultimate player who fancies trying out disc golf, please make contact or come to a tournament - ALL standards are welcome. Why not start with Britain's most popular tournament The Quarry Park Open? QPO3 will take place at my course near Leamington Spa on May 24/25. There are 18 baskets and no hole is longer than an Ultimate pitch (120m) - you can use your Ultrastar if you like!
