If you don't want to think about this, delete now. The rules as I've studied them (WFDF rules, BUF web pages) seem to say that if a pick is called _after the throw_, and the disc is caught by the team _not_ calling pick, then play stops, and resumes after a check with the disc posessed where it was caught. (404.14 C, Picks and 404.17 B1, Play continuation) But what if pick is called _after the throw_ and the disc is caught for a score? Obviously, if the score was made possible by a defender getting picked, the disc "should" go back to thrower. But I can't seem to find anything in the rules to support this, in fact the Play Continuation Rule seems to contradict this .... What am I missing? The rules in question: 404.14 C Picks: No player may establish a position or move in such a manner, so as to obstruct the movement of any player on the opposing team. In the event of a pick, the obstructed player shall immediately call, "pick" loudly. Play shall then be stopped and resumed after a check, with the count resuming from the point of interruption or to five is the count is over five. The Continuation rule applies only to the _next_ catch after the pick call. 404.17 Stoppage of Play B) Play Continuation rule 1) If a foul, violation or pick is called while the disc is in the air, play continues until posession of the disc is gained. (I've omitted sub-entries not directly relevant to the question, but the entries I've listed are complete) Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!
