This is just the report for the first ever CALEDONIAN ULTIMATE BEACH EVENT (C.U.B.E.). Firstly, you're not going to believe it but the weather was outstanding - as a result we're all rather sun burnt. 6 teams in total came and competed - Round Robin tournament and then semis and finals from the ranking all took place on Saturday. Sunday was a hat tournament. 1 - Sneeekies (Cup winner) 2 - Cognitive Hobo's 3 - Bearded Ladies 4 - Shooting Stars 5 - Stirling Blaze (SOTG winners) 6 - T.T.T.A (wooden spoon/garden gnome winners) SOTG - Stirling Blaze won it fair and square, although EVERY team got voted for. The team spirits were outstanding on all accounts. The final saw one of Aberdeens Positive Mojo's three teams pitted against Sneeekies. The game was set for 25 minutes and 2 point cap agreed no matter what the score. Sneeekies came out fighting right from the beginning with smooth long plays and brilliant defence. The final score at the buzzer was 7 - 4 to Sneeekies. We kept playing and Cog. Hobo's managed to catch up and overtake to get 8 - 7. Sneeekies pulled off another point to equalise and it went into 'sudden death'. Sneeekies then scored the decider. The Hat tournament got off with a suitably hung over start. All games in this were also very friendly. On the side, frisbee golf through the dunes gave a bit of a interesting but gentle break from running in soft sand all the time, plus frisbee tennis and volleyball also made an appearance. May I just pass along a big thank you to all the teams that made it up for the tournament. It made it very worthwhile, enjoyable and a whole lotta fun. We, Positive Mojo, look forward to seeing you all back next year for CUBE 2002. Thanks, Dave (capt. Positive Mojo) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
