I realise that our cheque was sent late, but it seems crazy to penalise teams that played in Tour 1. I admit that i have not seen the list of teams playing at Banbury, but i believe there is space for 28 teams. Strangely, this coincides with the number who actually played in Bristol, and to me, it seems only fair that a precedent on entry should be made to those defending places. Albatross made the effort to arrange a team at last minute to play in Bristol, giving us a position to defend. It now seems unfair that we are not in a position to do this. If ejection is chosen on an administration basis, would it not seem more reasonable to favour teams that have already played? Please see below for the reasons. I apologise for the delay in this but unfortunately it has not been possible for me to make an earlier decision. It is important that teams organise their entries faster, and having entered ensure that they do have a team ready and able to compete. When the tournament is limited in size we must ensure that teams that are expected to attend actually turn up. You will of course have all monies refunded to you. Individual players will be able to play for other teams under the guest rules, and this will not compromise the rostering of your team. Please ensure that your players know this and the reasons why their team is not attending. If you wish to discuss this further please mail me rather than anyone else (particularly Paul Unwin - TD) as he had no input in the decision, other than providing information to the u8c. Chris Hughes DoC Reasons for Ejection: Point Blank - PB have been blacklisted for late withdrawal from Tour one as per the tour rules. This would also have been applied to Skunks for the same reasons but they have declined to enter because of this. This is clearly laid out in the tour rules as distributed to team contacts at the beginning of the season. Albatross & Mohawk Mwnci Magic - Both teams were one of many teams who entered the event late. However, the decision of the u8c committee was to eject teams who had not paid their deposit in time - since notification of this was given in the tour rules at the beginning of the season, and the issues involved with raising funds are less when talking about a sum of 15 pounds. When more than one team did not pay the deposit, but had paid tournament entry fee, the last entering teams would be the teams who would be declined. In this situation, both teams were on separate days from any other teams in the same situation, and so did not rely on the order of envelopes being opened. Both Albatross and Mohawk Mwnci Magic can not be ejected from T3 in this, or any other fashion, assuming that you satisfy the entry requirements for Southampton, including the tour deposit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This email is confidential and may be privileged; it is for use of the named recipient(s) only.
