Dave has set up a program to allow Ultimate players an opportunity to raise funds by helping to secure advertisers for the magazine. There are some details below. Harris Toronto ********************** ATTENTION: Ultimate players interested in raising funds for yourself, your team or your project World Ultimate magazine, after partnering with Parallel, a successful advertising agency, and SOTG Events, run by John Harris of Toronto, is in the midst of securing advertisers (hi-tech recruiting companies and others) as it works towards its Spring re-launch of this quarterly magazine. As part of this effort, and in conjunction with the growing need for Ultimate sponsorship funds, it has launched the "World Ultimate Sponsor Advertising Program" - (WUSAP) The program is simple: World Ultimate will give the usual agency and ad rep fees, equaling 25% commission, to anyone who can bring in advertisers at our published rates. That is, if you (Ultimate player, coach or team) bring World Ultimate magazine an advertiser (ex: a $3,414 full page ad), WUM will issue you a cheque for 25% commission ($853.50). This program gives players an opportunity to raise money for tourney expenses, league fees, uniforms, discs for clinics or whatever ... and basically turns each Ultimate player who gets involved into an Ad Rep for the magazine and the sport. EXAMPLE: Potential advertisers/sponsors include: * Hi-tech companies wishing to advertise their career opportunities to a demographic that has more than 50% working in the hi-tech sector and a substantial university market of students studying as engineers, programmers etc. * Companies wishing to promote their services, company or products to outdoor and sports-minded professionals who not only play Ultimate but have a keen interest in anything to do with the outdoors, traveling, and so on.
