As DoC I should expect criticisms and should, as someone in a position of responsibility, respond to them objectively and maturely. I felt however that Mr Thopmsons comments were directed at me personally and were malicious, arrogant and insulting, especially when posted to a public forum such as Britdisc and not sent as a private mail. I felt that such comments crossed the line of public debate and became simply slanderous. Mr Thopmson questioned my ability to run the National Outdoor Finals. I wish to point out that Simon Hill is the *official* Director of Competitions and as such will be either co- ordinating or running the outdoor Championships. I am simply the *acting* Indoor DoC for this year. I wish also to publicly apologise to Mr Thompson for the personal mail I sent him yesterday, which was gratuitous and offensive, but was personal and not directed at him in public. I do not apologise, however, to Mr Thompson for any comments I made about him yesterday on BritDisc. I have never been a top level player for the degree of time that Mr Thompson has, but I have been a spectator for over nine years, so I have a pretty good idea of what I am talking about Again I wish to apologise to all. I should not have been provoked in this way. Certainly by someone who is not attending the championships, as his team did not wish to qualify, but also by someone who has no vested interest in the way British Indoor Ultimate is organised, as his team have stated, on this forum and in other ways, their contempt for the indoor game. To all attending Edinburgh, a safe journey. Sincerely, Paul Meaney, Acting Indoor Director of Competitions //////////////////////////////////\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ ****************************************************************************** Kryten: sir, you must forgive Mr Rimmer, he's suffering from a stress- related nervous disorder Lister: Next time I see him he'll be suffering from a fist- related teeth disorder ****************************************************************************** \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\////////////////////////////////////////////
