Hi everyone, GOOD NEWS! In response to many requests for a lower price for the Ultimate Fiesta in Pie de la Cuesta (Acapulco, Mexico) hat tournament, we've lowered the prices! (What helped was we found out that an Ultimate player here had booked his November wedding at the hotel at a lower rate; when we confronted the hotel with this they obligingly lowered the price for January). Also, the hotel has agreed to allow triple occupancy in the rooms, which also helps the price. Given this, we've decided to insist that all players MUST be at the tourney hotel Friday and Saturday night, otherwise things would just be too difficult logistically. If people really want to try to save some more money and stay at other area hotels the remaining nights, we'll provide names and telephone numbers of hotels. However, keep in mind that food and drink are not included at these places, so your saving are going to be incremental. Also, since a flat tournament fee is applied to all to cover costs, t-shirts, and transportation, you cost per night actually goes down the longer you stay. The new price plan is as follows: 4 NIGHTS Single occupancy: $550 Double occupancy: $360 Triple occupancy: $330 3 NIGHTS (Thurs, Fri, Sat) Single: $425 Double: $285 Triple: $260 2 NIGHTS (Fri, Sat) Single: $300 Double: $210 Triple: $195 Again, please note that these prices include lodging, all food and drink, entertainment, transport to/from fields, and t-shirts. See hotel web page, www.acabtu.com.mx/parador/ Airport transfers are NOT included, count on around $30 max for that. This price is the absolute bare minimum, we can't offer any group discounts at this level. The other issue is headcount. The hotel wants us to sign some kind of contract by the end of the month, so the more people we hear from and the more deposits we get before then, the better. Please e-mail me back and let me know what you think, your feedback is welcome. Thanks, Linda PS Please note that these prices are calculated on an exchange rate of 9.5. (That is, the hotel quotes us a price in pesos and we divide it by 9.5 to get the dollar price.) On December 1 the new President Fox takes control of the country; this changeover is traditionally accompanied by some volatility in the currency. If the exchange rate shoots up to 10 or more, we can throw in extras or refund some money. On the other hand, in the unlikely event that the exchange rate goes the other way, we may have to ask for more money. One way to protect yourself is to get in ALL your money before December 1. You can only benefit by doing so. [SEND REPLIES TO: Linda Anderson <besttrvl@prodigy.net.mx> NOT TO BRITDISC]
