My name is Linda Anderson, and I'm a beginning Ultimate player and = the Accomodations Coordinator that is helping organize the Ultimate = Fiesta in Pie de la Cuesta. It is a hat tournament that is going to be = held just outside of Acapulco, Mexico, January 17-21, 2000 (Wednesday = through Sunday). We are writing to teams in the U.P.A. to make sure they = are aware of this tournament, which should be a lot of fun and is also = intended to help Ultimate grow in Mexico. Here's the scoop: The tournament: The arrival day isWednesday the 17th. Then on Thursday the 18th we are = planning on having a mellow day with lots of beach Ultimate, perhaps a = game or two on grass. This was to allow stragglers to arrive and give = everyone time to relax and get into vacation mode. On Friday and = Saturday the hat tournament would start, although some beach Ultimate = can be mixed in. On Sunday the 20th we would revert to vacation mode, = going back to the beach since nobody is going to want to play a final = after the Saturday night bash and also ensuring nobody misses anything = if they have to catch an early flight. As I mentioned, we have planned this tournament not only to have a good = time, but to help promote Ultimate in Mexico. A lot of people will be = invited to observe and learn, including PE teachers, government people, = and the media. In addition to watching the games they will be = participating in some clinics or presentations. Any help you might want = to give would be appreciated! The location: Pie de la Cuesta is a beach located about 25 minutes from downtown = Acapulco. It's a low-key, unspoiled, gorgeous beach that is famous for = its sunsets. It is bordered on one side by the Pacific and on the other = by a fresh-water lagoon on which you can kayak, waterski, etc. The = hotel, Parador del Sol, is the only five-star hotel in the area. You can = check out its web page at www.acabtu.com.mx/parador/ The tournament package is all-inclusive, which means it includes three = meals (all-you-can-eat buffets) per day and all sodas and "national = beverages" (tequila and beer, what more could you need??) you can = consume. If you have any energy to spare after playing disc, a variety = of sports are offered for free, although water skiing does cost extra. = The rooms are actually broken up into two-bedroom villas, all with = air-conditioning and private terraces with hammocks. Please note that = the tournament price is for double occupancy, that is, two people to a = room. Other fun: We are planning on several fun events, including a bonfire on the beach = and an excursion to Acapulco to experience its world-famous nightlife. = Details will be forthcoming. Money matters: The price per player of the tournament package is $425. This includes = five days and four nights (double occupancy) in an all-inclusive resort, = all meals and national drinks, transportation to/from fields, a T-shirt, = and a disc. Transportation to and from the airport is extra, but should = be less than $25 round trip. Please note that this is based on an = exchange rate of 9.2 pesos to the dollar. Keep in mind that December of = an election year is traditionally somewhat volatile, and we may have to = make an adjustment if the exchange rate should rise by more than 10%, or = we won't be able to cover costs.=20 If you decide you want to come, we need a deposit to reserve your room = at the Parador del Sol. Instructions for wiring money are on the = tournament web page. Before you send money, though, please get in touch = with Beto Stern at astern@multibix.com to let him know it's coming. I hope this sounds like something you might want to do. If you have any = questions you can e-mail me at besttrvl@prodigy.net.mx or = andersonlinda_us@yahoo.com or anyone listed at the tournament web site = at www.discovolador.com/fiesta2001/ . Hope to see you in January. Thanks, Linda Anderson ------=_NextPart_000_004D_01C02227.5E9D2600 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial"><FONT size=3D4>Hi!
