Here is a very brief report. 1st Marco Lehousse (Belgium) 350 pounds 2nd Sam Neilson (GB) 250 pounds 3rd Derek Robins (GB) 150 pounds 4th Simon Luard (GB) 125 pounds 5th Liam Young (GB) 100 pounds Womens Division 1st Ruth Steele Amateurs Division 1st Matt Pike This British Open was again part of the Eurotour and we had a record field of competitors with our largest ever contingent of overseas players. Furthest travelled was Rich Hart who flew in from Minnesota, USA to play the tournament. We also had players from France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden. The high pay-outs which went down to 12th place were largely thanks to the generous support of Leah Healthcare who also provided free chiropractic treatment to players throughout the tournament - both contributions were greatly appreciated. Marco Lehousse dominated proceedings with exceptional scores in the low 50's in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and went into the final 13 shots ahead of Sam Neilson who was clear in 2nd place. With the title wrapped up Marco took his foot off the accelerator in the 9 hole final and Sam came through strongly to close the gap to 6 shots. Derek Robins pipped Simon Luard on the last hole to take 3rd place. The random draw doubles on Friday evening was won by Derek Robins and Jester Wilson. Sam Neilson scored the only ace of the tournament on hole 13 on the Ancient Course. The prize ceremony was both joyous and emotional with tribute being paid to the late Mrs Green who enjoyed seeing disc golfers visit the farm and appreciate the beautiful surroundings. We are grateful that she invited us to play our sport in such a special place.
