It is recommended that you travel by car! as Ross on Wye doesn't have a
railway station, and after 15 years (already!) the tournament organisers
still haven't thought to find out how you get there by rail (try
http://www.thetrainline.com ?) or coach (try National Express or
http://www.gobycoach.com ?), especially if you've flown from another
country!
Getting to Ross on Wye by Car as interpreted from said street map
# A40 from Gloucester/Cheltenham: follow the A40 to a ROUNDABOUT where
it turns right, the Fire Station is on your left. Go STRAIGHT ACROSS,
into Ross along Gloucester Road. Keep going, past the Market Hall in the
Town Centre, along High Street and out of town. Follow the road as it
goes left and down the hill as Wilton Road (B4260) and right a little
at the bottom. On the LEFT is a CAR PARK. (If you cross the river,
you've gone too far, turn back at the roundabout) TURN IN here, follow
the trackway that's to the right of the car park and leads to the Ross
Sports Centre.
# M50 from Worcester/Birmingham/M5 & A449 from Ledbury/Malvern: to the
ROUNDABOUT that has the Livestock Market signposted and has the A40 as
two exits. Follow the A40, towards Monmouth to the A40/A49/B4260
ROUNDABOUT and take the first exit, towards Ross. You can now follow the
directions below.
# A40 from Monmouth/Symonds Yat/South Wales & A49 from
Hereford/Leominster: follow either the A40 or A49 until you get to the
A40/A49 ROUNDABOUT. Head into Ross on Wye on the B4260 (not along the
A40/bypass) over the river on Wilton Bridge onto Wilton Road. On the
right is a CAR PARK. TURN IN here, follow the trackway that's to the
right of the car park and leads to the Ross Sports Centre.
