"Televised" in a "proper" manner, rather than just 20 second clips on the local news? Somehow I rather doubt it, I'm afraid, and this applies around most of the world. The tournament organisation is considering having film crews on site (see attached mail from the WUGC mailing list - with apologies to those of you that will now have received this for possibly the third time!) There *are* assorted video items around (some videos of US Nationals were used when I was a fresher; C4s documentary of the 94 Worlds in Colchester is probably the most weighty UK production; assorted BAF/Blue Peter sessions are the most infamous; there's a video article from the [Catch vs Red Lights] British Open at Eastbourne on the net [the British open website?!] somewhere...) and Jester has put together a pretty funky compilation on CD... I'd recommend contacting the BUF for a more precise idea of what's stashed in their 'library'. >Just a thought but has anybody aproached the BBC to offer them rights to >televise British Ultimate (say the Nationals in September) as they can't >seem to be able to fill grandstand these days. I'd hope that the BUF have been working on the potential of this idea, but personally suspect that the time is still not yet right to put ourselves (British Ultimate in general) under such a spotlight.
