(For those of you that are not aware - Aston University sold the pitches we had booked for T4, and buldozers move in on July 1st) However I still need a venue for Nationals. In the meantime, where all off to sunny, tropical Leeds, courtesy of the Janitors. Apologies to those of you who were looking forward to going to Brimingham (!). Chris DoC We have found that locations for tournaments is not difficult, instead trying to persuade them that you are serious in trying to hire everything they have for a 'frisbee' tournament is much more difficult. Some venue want payment upfront, which for some of these can be inexcess of 1000 pounds. How much do myself and Wayne make out of a tournament. Well, I'm turning into something of a supermodel here, given the amount of grief (not effort, just grief) I now get to the stage of I'm not doing Swindon for anything less than 800 pounds. The majority of that profit comes from oversubscribing the tournament. We have been stung by small turnouts before, so I always underestimate the number of teams coming to a tournament. This year at Swindon, we budgeted for 24 teams, the fact that 33 turned up made our day (and our money) Chris Layout Dreams > ---------- > From: matthew.lowe[SMTP:matthew.lowe@dtn.ntl.com] > Sent: 23 May 2000 01:49 > To: britdisc@csv.warwick.ac.uk > Subject: Re: Venues > > Convoy wrote > > > Admittedly, the sport is growing in size, and the need > > for leagues is not too distant.
