That way you: 1) Don't have to waste time having this e-conversation when you students should be researching the next wave of whatever it is you research; 2) Don't have to carry off players injured by speedy pulls - because you'd have to be pretty damned slow to get hit by an outdoor pull; 3) Get much more playing time than you do in an indoor tounament - even if you only play on Sunday! 4) Might just get good enough to beat us outdoors (boy how I'm going to enjoy eating my words one day); and 5) Don't have to run to your car for a quick smoke between games. On a serious note: Don't underestimate how much the lack of 7 on 7 practices, and the focus on an indoors chaotic style of play, in this country has hampered our chances against other teams who know how to play a variety of 7 player O and D's. Look at the Druids - a fine indoor team, but the results don't seem to translate outdoors. I remember playing Maddison at the 1993 World Clubs - they spanked us just because they had a cool O and we weren't used to playing anything other than stack and zone. How many of you can even play these well, let alone know anymore? I bet a hell of alot more of you know whether or not you can throw a hammer from one end of a sports hall to the other than know how to run 'late invert'. Anyway, It's warm out there now folks - don't be afraid. Roger SHOTGUN 'Green grass and shades...hmmm - lovely' PS. Ozzie - you proud of me?
