Barry, no one's saying it's easy to organise these things but it's still a disgrace that between us we can't keep time for the national final. Rob, sorry about the shortened match but since ours was the only game being played we trusted the hooter. I believe there was an offer to play the extra 15 minutes with our TO reinstated, but it was decided to cap the match instead.

Since the debating season's well and truly underway here are some more to play with:

1) Each Tour event to have one pitch with perimeter sidelines for matches likely to attract spectators

2) Qualification for international club tournaments (open division) to be based on performance in the Tour rather than Nationals

3) The world is not flat
