MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Turnpike Integrated Version 4.02 S <pjZRgFWDsQK5ViyP$l4rxVrb6a> Sender: owner-britdisc@warwick.ac.uk Precedence: bulk Myth: Wayne has knowledge of and influence in the way Ultimate is run in the British Isles. Fact: Wayne says lots, sometimes it's useful stuff, less often people listen, every now and again my comments are taken into consideration. Hopefully the following will be taken into consideration! Rumours: On the Saturday of the BUF Open in Eastbourne, this coming weekend (i.e. 6 days from when most of you will read this), the British Ultimate Federation will be holding the Annual General Meeting - this is the one that ALL members may (ought to?) attend and make comments at, vote new/continuing committees, etc. There are likely to be several topics of discussion that may affect the ways in which Ultimate is run and occurs in the British Isles. (Typical examples, from previous rumours, include: BUF vs. BUA, membership fees, Tour structure, Nationals, International competition teams - remember that CoEd is "official" now!, and the financial situation.) Does anyone care? Would anyone (else) like to see the Agenda so that they know whether they ought to care? Would anyone like to propose any items for discussion, either as specified Agenda items, or under Any Other Business? Would anyone like to be prepared for any discussions in which they have any interest? Does anyone know what time the meeting is planned for? Will it mean I have to forgo the pleasures of the cold showers after the floodlit demo game (another rumour based on past experiences!), or even the game itself, and/or order a delivery dinner? Anyone from any teams that are not attending the tournament planning to send a representative? It's a good opportunity to come down to a great tournament and pick up for another team! Wayne PS: Dear BUF (Secretary, I presume), Could _I_ please see the Agenda, so that I may have _useful_ comments prepared... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Wayne Retter at home: 0181-663-4856 wayne@phidelta.demon.co.uk mobile: 07970-903420
