Hi,

Just trying to spark a discussion on one of the biggest problems about running a tournament. I really don't mind spending most of my day running around filling up water containers because the fields are so poorly equipped, that's what you accept when you book them.

What does really annoy me though is the sheer mess left at the end of each day around the pitches, and the camping area. If it wasn't for the hard work of volunteers in clearing up tournaments like Exeter, Ross-on-Wye, etc. we would lose these venues.

I would have loved to have seen more than 2 points of the UTI - Catch 22 final, but I couldn't because of the amount of rubbish left everywhere that had to be cleared before I could drive 250 miles home again. There really is no excuse for it. Black bin liners were everywhere (almost), so why didn't more rubbish make its way into them?

If anyone has any ideas how to tackle this problem, then please suggest something. We try and keep tournaments as cheap as possible, but we are going to have to look at employing people to clear up after us.

Sorry if I sound pissed off, but I am.

Kevin (& Jennie)
