From: "Paul Unwin (Grantham College)" <punwin@grantham.ac.uk> To: britdisc <britdisc@csv.warwick.ac.uk> Subject: Help please Date: Wed, 7 Jul 1999 10:34:00 +0100 The Meres leisure Centre in Grantham has been so impressed with Ultimate that it is now included it in its programme of events for the summer. This is what The Leisure Centre has planned: 1. Staff training for 36 members of staff on Saturday 24th July 6.30 - 8.30 They want all the leisure centre staff able to help in running the programme. Therefore they all need to understand the game, to the extent that they can help teach youngsters. 2. Initial taster sessions for youngsters and adults. running from the beginning of August. 3. Courses running on Monday and Wednesday evenings Following on from the taster evenings running through to September at least. There is one major problem AND THIS IS WHY I NEED HELP. I am the only Ultimate player in Grantham, and I am getting married when the programme is scheduled to start. Shite timing! So that means I will not be able to lead the coaching for the first 3 weeks from the 24th July. Is there anyone out there in Britdisc world who could initiate the training of 30+ leisure centre staff in the game? Obviously if we can get them buzzing it could really take off. If this works we (Meres Management and me) hope that this model can be employed in other Circa Leisure sites around the country. I want to see this work, but need your help so if you think you can help in any way please reply. thanks pu red superfly
