First off, thanks to Robin, Ollie, and Alexis for hosting the tournament, when no one else in
the region would. Thanks to you all, everyone in the region got a fair shot at Nationals.

Second off, I would like to comment on the play of my team, since the only thing I have read
so far really only mentioned a shut out.

Our first game of the tournament, and the first tournament for the majority of my team was
against Strange Blue. We lost this game 6 to 5, tied at time.

We won our second game, which wasn't close. Our Third game was against finalist Ow!
Though the final score was 7-3 or 7-4, all involved thought this was a close game while we
were playing it.

We won our fourth game again by enough of a margin to not call the game close.

Our fifth game was the highlight of the tournament for us. We played a VERY talented
Gooey Kaplooey squad. We barely won this game something like 6 to 4.

It should be stated that the combined experience of my team was 7 years across 12
players on the roster, many sicker than myself and couldn't play (excluding myself). We lost
two players the first day (out of a total of 8), and had to bring in a couple more players the
following day who had not played in a tournament before.

Alas, it was too difficult to try and integrate them into our team on given the level of
competition on the second day, with us losing badly in all 3 of our games on Sunday.

The point I'm trying to make is that a first year team made it to Student Indoor Nationals in
the UK. There was no team when I got here, and now there is a UK Student National calber
team here. We may not win a game at Nationals, but over the last 3 months here, we have
introduced the sport to over 30 new students, where some of the long established teams
do well to get in 3 or 4 new students.

This type of performance should be more commended than simply written off as a team
that got through that didn't really deserve it. My team worked hard to get where they are,
and while we did get shut out by Mohawks, we had many close games leading up to that
game.

The Mohawks/OW! game was a wonderful game to watch. Both teams will be hard to beat
at Nationals. Spirit in general was excellent, and it was a pleasure to be able to compete.
