Imperial College - ultimate@ic.ac.uk, jolyon.thompson@ic.ac.uk There may be enough people coming in to pick up on teams to justify an ad hoc Friendly Fire team. Players seeking to pick up should come prepared with one light and one dark shirt to fit the colours of the team with which you will be playing. FORMAT The format of the tourney will be a division into two pools, randomly drawn. In the event sufficient 'maybes' confirm entry in time there may be a third pool to accommodate the numbers. Pools will play a round robin format and there will be intermediate playoffs between the top two teams from each pool against each other in a standard semi-final / final set up. The third pitch (and we should have ample space for one, will be made available for the other teams to play each other. Matches will be organized by the captains amongst themselves with the understanding that games should be capped at 45 minutes in length to allow other teams time on the pitch. SCHEDULE Captains' Meeting will be at 12.15pm on the pitch. Teams should try and bring their own cones / accessories with them and volunteer to set up the pitches prior to the tourney's first game. First game will start at 12.45pm and will be capped at 45 minutes or 11 points, whichever comes first. There will be a 15 minute gap between games to exchange calls and rest up for the next match. ETHOS The tourney has been dubbed Friendly Fire to emphasize that the Spirit of the game is the primary driving force behind the competition. There are no entry fees and no prizes save for the kudos earned by good play. I hope this ethos survives to permeate any subsequent expansion of the Friendly Fire Tourney into a regular league format, a strong possibility in light of the immensely encouraging response I have received from London Teams and Ulty players up and down the country. I urge everyone to get behind the spirit of Friendly Fire and make it a great day out. Adam Keen Under Cover Lovers -- Adeline Fonseka
