Shame. Nolan wrote the following to me yesterday and I think he has a good point. >VH may have stated that they are not entering, but it would be far >better to have a London based team and a more Northerly based team. >If VH could be persuaded to take up one slot, it would be a whole >lot better as far as pulling together decent squads for practices. >If it's just one big team, it means that a few keen players just >won't be able to get to all the practices and it would be a dreadful >waste if those players were thus not able to take part at World >Clubs. I think the idea having a northern and southern team is great, but am not so sure of persuading VH to be that team. Sean Young said he had heard that there might be a Scottish Masters team with old Sneeekys like himself and perhaps some old Stan boys? Have you heard any such rumours? Have they contacted you? That would be a really cool way to approach it. > Therefore, I think it would be best to assume that we will only fill one > place and that you should concentrate on getting your team together for it. > I think we will also have to decline the second slot pretty soon if we can't > fill it - I can't even see a whole load of people coming out of the woodwork > if they know we are giving up the place. If there isn't a chance of a northern (or any) team coming forward, then it definitely would be beneficial to drop the second slot, and concentrate all efforts on one team. Let me know how you get on.
