There were 12 teams in 3 pools and the top two from each pool played the other top two teams from the other pools (with the result from your pool against the other team going through being carried forward) which gave us the top 8 for quarters, semis and finals. Confused? we certainly were, but it all worked out nicely in the end. Sneeeky's I got off to a cracking start with an injury to captain Stuart "Oooh that smarts" McComb in the first point of the first game. Saturday night saw everyone gathering in the spectacularly seedy "Manhattan Club". After a couple of tete-a-tetes with the locals we decided that discretion was the better part of valor and moved to a much larger club. Here Sneeeky's invaded the stage, stripped off and spent the rest of the evening gyrating, waving Scottish flags and shouting "ScooootLaaaand!" Just your average Saturday night really... Sunday saw several upsets-we got dumped by Bradford (though they'd had an early night) and Catch (who'd looked like they were just there to show everyone how many scubas and no-look throws it's possible to have in a single indoor game) got pipped by St. Andrews. Sneeeky's I lost their semi to St. Andrews (well done on finally doing it-it's about bloody time!) and Catch beat Bradford. The final was a very rowdy affair with Sneeeky's I and II and Glasgow making one hell of a din for the Scots and likewise Jedi for Catch. Catch finally triumphed, but only after bringing on "The Gaffer". All in all an absolutely topping weekend and Sneeeky's I winning the Spirit was just the icing on the cake. Many congratulations to all the Lancaster crew for running the whole thing so well. Same again next year please!! Cheers Leo
