On a more serious note there are techniques for making lay-outs much safer (eg landing on your front not your shoulder and yes, avoiding walls). There was a good article about this in issue 1 of World Ultimate Magazine (I think). I wonder if the article is also public domain anywhere on the internet??? Then there's proper warm-ups too......
