Some of you have already contacted the organisers of the WUCC '97
tournament in Vancouver, if not now might be a good time.
The british teams have been allocated the following slots;
4 Open
2 Women's
2 Masters
Spaces are allocated on willingness to go! If however there are more
teams wanting to go than spaces available then places will be allocated
on National ranking (i.e. Final placings at Hitchen). In reality there
may be more places than those we have been allocated as some nations
will not fill their slots.
If you are seriously interested in attending Worlds, even if you didn't
finish in the top 5 (Stan are playing in the masters division -
allegedly) in the open division, or top two in the women's division
there is still a chance you could get a place. The earlier you send in
your deposit the higher on the waiting list you will be placed.
In previous years the organisers have asked the BUF for a list of
interested and eligible teams, but this has not happened so far this
year and it appears that it is being left down to the teams to contact
the organisers directly! Rather than waiting to see what happens I
would suggest that clubs be pro-active.
There is a web site with all the relevant information on at:
