No they just disperse to the far reaches of the country, and even go on holiday while they have the time. Many go without leaving their home address or phone number. I guess that if the system meant that student teams had to play in the summer, contacts could be left. We tried it this summer, I had the numbers of most of the club, however only 6 were available to make it to Ross and 5 went to Ilkley. Not the best turn out for a team trying to gain a place at the Nationals. You may say, well if they can't field the players at these summer tournaments why should they contend for a place at nationals. Okay so then the next problem would be, 6 players turn up, they pick up several "good" players to make up a team. Will this be valid for National qualification?? > every open team in the country manages this week in week out I remember a few open teams turning up to tournaments this summer with say 6 regular players, would they loose out too. You may know one of them. > skunks always managed it when I used to play for them I would like things this way, I don't particularly enjoy not being able to play for my team over the summer. Things just didn't work out that way it probably comes down to my teams commitment. Bloody students making things difficult, shoot the lot of em. Andy - skunks captain (or trying to be)
