For those (many) of you who were too lame to turn up...
This weekend saw the Exeter Hat tournament. Sadly this year the
numbers who competed were quite low, but enough to make 5 teams and
thus four, hard fought games on Saturday, and 4 teams on Sunday. The
standard of play was much harder than I remembered from 2 years ago,
with teams gelling together almost immediately. Although there was
a constant wind most of the days, teams did pretty well upwind as well
as downwind.
With the summer Tour now dominating the schedules, it's good to have
a tournament like this where the goal of winning takes second place
to playing well with new people and playing purely for the joy of
playing.
Thanks to the Exeter folks for putting on this tournament, and thanks
to the people who did come down and make this weekend so special.
