that's 2 Ultimate and 1 DDC tournaments that have been cancelled this year 
due to undersubscription,

as well as the tournaments (Cambridge, Fiesta) that struggled for numbers 
with teams dropping out last minute

What is it with British Ultimate this year?

We (as a populace) have been complaining that we can't get into the Tour 
Events...
and that it would be nice to have more nonTour Events...
somebody puts the effort in to set one up...
we then don't attend those that get planned!

WORSE STILL - we don't tell people we're not coming!

I agree, but I'd make that applicable to ALL tournaments (including the Tour) - 
if you feel that you cannot enter, or may be struggling for numbers, INFORM THE 
ORGANISERS so that they can put "Plan B" into action

Aha! I rather suspect that most of the valid reasons have been
        a) recent (?) exams,
        b) lack of transport,
        c) lack of financial and other support from institutions,
        d) (GB Juniors) saving for Worlds,

c) affects every Ultimate player/team at any level at some point - so the 
BFDF/BUF are looking into sponsorship, as well as the "Schools Initiative"... I 
wonder what the situation is at the moment - Any chance of updates, Sam, Scott, 
Kevin, Mark J ?
