More tournament details will be held on the website once IT let me access the site (www.curved-logic.com/~kevin/ultim8/u8) ---- Duckes Meadow, Exeter July 11/12, 1998 Uriel would like to invite you to the final event of the 1998 BUF Ultim8 Tour. The tournament is being held at Exeter University's Duckes Meadow where 12-15 lined pitches can cope with up to 32 open teams and 8 women's teams. We are experimenting with having a women's tour event alongside the open event. As usual, accommodation is courtesy of Double Locks Pub, located a 10 minute walk away from the pitches (15 minutes by car, or 1 minute swimming). If camping is not your style, then there is a B&B list attached. Free camping is available Friday and Saturday nights (and Sunday if you want to stay for the footie, but Double Locks doesn't actually have a telly). Please respect the pub's rules. Don't bring your own drink! Don't eat your own food on their premises (or at least don't be seen doing so). They reserve the right to kick anyone and everyone off their premises for abusing these rules. There will be a food tent on the pitches providing hot and cold food (a more extensive choice than normal, we hope). Friday and Saturday evening, Double Locks will be serving their normal menu meals, and providing a Bar-B-Q both evenings. There are numerous restaurants and take-aways in town. Just head for the main high street. Anyone interested in finding a local pub with a large TV screen for the 3/4 playoff will be presented with directions. The cost of the tournament is £50 (plus £15 tax). Please send a cheque (payable to Kevin Lowe) to be received no later than July 1st. If you haven't paid your £15 BUF tax deposit yet, then send it to Dora Kemp (McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3ER) Women's teams entering the women's event need only send a cheque for £40 (includes BUF tax) Captain's meeting will take place at 09:00 on the Saturday, with matches beginning at 09:30. On the Sunday, matches will start at 09:00 sharp, with the presentations being held by 17:00. Concessions to the World cup final will be influenced by, whether tour V will be the crunch for the tour title, whether teams are prepared to play earlier on Sunday / we work some schedule were teams only play two games, whether England (or Scotland) get to the final / 3,4 playoff (dependent purely on Hoddle waking up and dropping all those Man U players and putting Owen and McManaman in the team :) Anyone wishing to put their cheque in the post today, feel free!
