Thanks for a really memorable weekend (and thanks for the pick-ups!) Anyway, my observation: One of the many reasons why Cam 98 was so enjoyable was the relaxed, informal atmosphere in which it was played, but it was probably also the reason why Infera churned out a few questionable statistics. Our pick-ups joined us at staggered times throughout Saturday and into Sunday, giving us a stronger team each match we played. At the same time I think I'm right in saying that a fair amount of cross-team ringing occured. Another tournament may not have had these things happening, and results would probably have been a little more constant, but to be honest, it wouldn't have been half as much fun. On the whole, I think it's a pretty interesting way of ranking teams and definitely worth trying out again. Anybody thinking of using it in the near future? DDC Tournie The provisional deadline I set (5th June) has passed and I won't be holding the tounie. As it stands, I have only a few entered teams and am not prepared to take a risk that things will improve. This is not such a depressing result, however - despite the dissappointing entry I've had quite a few positive replies from people who, for one reason or another, are unable to attend on the weekend I chose, or who have approached me with words of encouragement. Thanks to those people, and special thanks to those who entered - cheques will be destroyed. This is not the last you will hear of me - I may well try again next season.
