I don't think Laura's talking about stopping Women playing in the open division if they want to (and, dare I say it, if their team want them to - don't deny this happens). That's the whole idea of an "open" division. But I agree with her that building women players' confidence and getting the sport taken "seriously" would both be helped by encouraging women to play Women's ultimate. Which entails providing the opportunity for them to do so. You can still sell the idea of mixed ultimate at freshers'. It's not going away in a hurry. Ultim-8 is cool already. The concept is right, and I'm sure it'll just keep getting cooler. So what about more co-ed! More hat tournaments! More women-only divisions! We need more events all-round. What we actually need is more people to come forward and organise them. Roll on the Chaos outdoors, etc. Whoa! Getting off track. Stop now.
