We were faced with a three way tie, complicated by the fact that all these teams were on three votes (a total of seventeen teams were nominated). So tied were, K-Niggets, Sharks and Sneeekys. And whilst the initial selection of K-Niggets appeared rather arbitrary, they are a new team and so I made an executive decision and decided to award the prize to them. They weren't there; so we could either hold the spirit trophy and give it later, or reward those hardy souls who had stayed. I then had the idea of asking the crowd, who they would rather win, and the vote was fairly unanimous. So in answer to your question, they didn't win OUTRIGHT, and so we had to split the tie (something we are doing a lot recently actually!). For the tour SOTG all the nominated teams will get their full quota of votes carried through. Either the team with most Spirit votes was K-Niggets and they should be recognised as such, or they weren't, in which case why were they originally announced as winners? SOTG deserves a little more respect imho. Apart from that, great tourney, through the wind and the rain...
