Firstly, rather than the bottom 4 teams be given a vague threat a few days before the tournament that they may not get into the next Tour tournament, this should instead be applied to the TOP 4 teams- after all they have more points between them than most of the other teams put together- so why should they waste their time playing in Tour II? Secondly, a revised schedule could be drawn up. I found it diffult to understand what was going on half the time in Leicester (and I'm usually quite good at that sort of thing). Can I suggest that rather than the top 1 from each group going into a play-off, then the next and and finally the bottom 2, that the first 2 from the three groups with the best record, go forward automatically, along with the top 1 from the remaining 5, the second place teams going into a intermediate play-off with 3rd placed teams from the other 3 groups, leaving a the bottom sixteen to play off crossover games with the middle sixteen, the top 6 progressing from this, the middle 4 playing off for a chance to play with the top 16 and the bottom 8 playing a one-game 'Battle Royal' with all 8 teams on the field at once. Thirdly, that in light of the sometimes appalling weather conditions towards the beginning and end of the outdoor season, maybe we should consider holding the first Tour event as an INDOOR tournament- thus also making the tour champions the UNDISPUTED champions of British Ultimate. Fourthly, that women's teams should be BANNED from ALL future BUF events, and further, that women who've already played for Women's Team should be exluded from entering with Open teams unless they agree to play in false moustaches. Similar rules could also be extended to Students (make them play in shirts and ties maybe) and juniors (long trousers). I've thought long and hard about these changes, and general views and comments would be much appreciated. Love & Luck, Lawrence Fingers 6
