The proposed Women and Junior rule change 2. BFDF Development 3. The tournament reports. 1. Proposed rule change ----------------------- I have received more than one complaint/suggestion that this rule change shouldn't be made, and suspect that there may be more on the way! So DO NOT BANK on the rule change being made. I want to make it clear that this rule change has not as yet been made. I will try to keep everyone informed as much as is possible. I guess if you feel strongly in favour of the rule change you should let me know. There are good arguments on both sides. 2. BFDF Development Email ------------------------- Mark asked for some comments about development. I've already emailed him some thoughts that relate specifically to tournaments, but would also really like to a sensible discussion on the question of a SEPARATE WOMENS DIVISION at major tournaments. (This is at the core of the problem discussed above.) I know its too late for this year's tour, but I really think this should be considered a priority. I would like to see how many women want to play in a separate division and how many don't. 3. Tournament Reports --------------------- I understand some of what Roger is saying, but also feel compelled to defend the TDs that spend so much time making it possible for me to play ultimate. I would love to see some coherent tournament reports from all events, but esp. the biggest ones. But I slightly disagree with Roger about the TD doing it. I think we would get better (in lots of ways) reports if they were written by people who wanted to do it, and arrived at a tournament knowing that they would do it. My idea was to be able to arrive at this situation by asking people to come forward to write something for the Tour Newsletter. (Interestingly, now that I've started swearing about it, several of my friends have come forward and offered!) So I was following Roger's advice and delegating. I just thought it would be easier to delegate from one place rather than 5 different places. Essentially we all agree, which is nice. Please continue to offer your help if you want to write a tournament report. You don't have to do more than one. Hey! - you could even just do half a one! Thats all! Si
