Hi Student People,

I'm sure you have already heard about the Scottish League.
Almost all the teams are playing regularly and they are trying to
get Scottish University Sports Federation recognition, which
hopefully will:
1. Increase the number of teams in Scotland
2. Make applications to the Sports Council and BUSA easier for the
whole of ultimate, and generally increase awareness and recognition of
    the sport
3. Make it easier to get money from our Universities.

They are really enjoying it, as they get a serious game on a regular basis
and lots of experience for their student players. At present they are
even looking to expand this to have a B-league which will give even more
players the chance to play in the league and practice those silky skills.

Therefore I would like to see something similar going on in other
regions. As I understand it there are indoor fixtures going on in the
Midlands at the moment. I'm not sure whether they have plans to go
outside or not. In the North it is likely we will have a weekend
mini tournament and a couple of one-off friendlies. In the South as
far as I know nothing is happening.

So come on, universities really are the key to the growth of the
sport at the moment. I know exams will soon be upon us, but let's have a
little regional outdoor season, even if it is only a weekend mini
tournament or a couple of one-off friendlies. It will all help the
three objectives that they are attempting to achieve in Scotland.

If you want any help contacting teams in your region or setting up a
mini tournament let me know.

Keep up the good work,

Simon Weeks
