The group's next convoy leaves Milton Keynes (MK) in April, and a couple of the drivers are from here at the Open University (the Mad Kows home base). I thought that discs would make a perfect item to send for the following reasons: 1. Functional- they are light, and easy to pack. 2. Egalitarian and gender free: as gifts the children can't fight over the difference between one disc and another, so making it easy for the teachers to distribute between all ages and sexes. 3. Simple: I cannot think of a sporting item, or toy, which is more uplifting and liberating in character, apart from possibly balls.... If you'd like to donate a disc/s (in new condition, so that the kids don't have to fight over newness) then please let me know by e-mail. Alternatively, give your disc to a Mad Kow at any of the tournaments we shall be at before April. So far these are: Bristol Indoors (24th-25th Jan) and with Alien Nation at the Student Finals. If you are going to do this as a team, and contribute a number of discs, including a team photo would be great so that we can send it along with the discs to the kids for their school archive.... I apologise for taking up your time....hope you can contribute.... ta eddie (Mad Kow) e.c.gonsalves@open.ac.uk
