The tournament is going to run from Aug. 15
1997 check in. Aug. 16 first day of play. To friday Aug. 21 the day of
Finals for the Multi Divisonal tournament with the Elite Championships
also. Saturday will be the finals for the WFDF WUC . We will have lots of
stuff planned please realize that this is just a preliminary schedule
things may change but only in a good way. The weather in Minnesota at this
time is great hot and sunny so the trips to the wave pool will be
appreciated.
We have an excellent variety of bands locally and we may have a national
act come in also. We are going to do this in order to attract spectators
who may come in for the band and see a great Ultimate game. The fields
most seriously are the most plush, lush, level you have ever played on. As
you know this was meant to be an Olympic venue. This facility was built on
an old sod farm that was built on an old peat bog so there is resilence
and springy-ness (?) that makes it easy to go HO and your joints are not
sore.
The costs are $150.00 per team team fee and $155.00 per player fee. For a
per player fee of $175.00 you will get a subscription to World Ultimate
Magazine. A down payment check of the $500.00, the down payment of what
is owed, is required to hold your spot this will be due by mid April the
rest is due In June. Late fees will be assessed. This fee includes parties, free bus transportation to / from
fields, parties, wave pool, and other points of interest. Also included
are the wonderful players package we are looking at bags or daypack backpacks. Tons of other tourney related items are included also. We will have dormitory rooms (singles and doubles) at the
University of Minnesota. These will have telephones in each room,
air conditioned, T.V. and game rooms. There will be an all you can eat cafeteria with main entrees, taco/burrito bar, salads/fruit bars, hard and
soft ice cream, pop, juices, coffee etc.. All for $30.00 a night per
person. Within a 3 minute walk of the dorms are 10 resturants, 5 coffee
houses, 4 bars (with parties planned), all kinds of shops, two grocery
stores, liquor store and a movie theater. What we need is for those
interested in dorm stay to contact us by team in January. This is because
the U of Minn. is a little unsure of how many Ultimate players attend
these things. We also have hotels lined up with rooms blocked The Hilton
is going to be our Tournament Hotel but many others are lined up also. The website will have all the contact info. up on it real soon.

All amounts are in U.S. dollars. Remember all Men's open, Women's,
Masters, Junior's and Coed teams are invited. I want 300 teams :). I am
especially inviting Summer League teams that will play in our Coed
division.
Saturday August 15 National Sports Center all teams check in captains
meetings 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Opening Ceremony / party in adjacent
stadium with band, beer, food etc.. Big program lots of fun and a chance
to meet and greet friends. The beer garden and food concessions will go on
from 3:00 p.m.. Players Packages handed out and tourney store will be
open. All at the National
Sport Center complex.
SundayAugust 16 first day of competion all teams. Shuttle bus to local
wave pool all day long. Day end social onsite BIG party TBA (To Be
Announced).
Monday competition continues, shutle bus to wave pool all day, onsite
social hour until 7:00. Parties (multiple) TBA trip to local Casino with
dinner.
Tuesday More competition , shuttle busses to local wave pool and shopping
center. Day end social. Night games under lights more parties.
Wednesday competiton continues last day of pool play. Wave pool, Day end
social. Another BIG party.
Thursday Championship and Consulation rounds, more Wave Pool , Day end
Social. Trade night, Night Game under the lights beer garden open and food
concession open.
Friday Elite Championships final and Multi Division Championships final
Big Party in the Stadium. Many suprises bands, beer, food concessions.
Saturday WFDF WUC finals big finals Party Everybody parties
Sunday INTERNATIONAL HAT TOURNAMENT EVERYBODY Invited.
