What do you think? Feel free to edit it if you think it makes it clearer or less controversial. Having absorbed all the feedback form the original email on student eligibility rules, it does seem clear that there is a general consensus for the changing of the four year ruling. However, I believe it would be unfair to change it after one qualifier has already taken place and just four days before the other three student qualifiers are due to take place. We have no way of knowing whether we would be able to notify everyone by then let alone whether those previously ineligible would have left the weekend free on the off chance that the rules would get changed. Therefore I have decided that the rules must stay enforce for the Student Indoors tournaments this year with a view to reviewing them prior to the outdoor season in the spring. I will be making a decision on the rule change over Christmas, so if there are any people who would still like to have their two penneth then feel free to email me (though not Britdisc) or speak to me at Southampton Indoors or GB. I would particularly like to hear from the students themselves when they have participated in the qualifiers without the more experienced types, whether they think it is better, worse or whether there is a need to limit the number of experienced players on the pitch at one time. Time for me to get some essays done, Thanks for everyone’s input, Si. P.S. Anyone failing to contact Shaun Lohman (Northern Qualifier Tournament Director) his telephone number is 01524 847230.
