Thank God this > isn't taking place on Eurodisc, otherwise we'd have been flamed to hell by now. I have a "britdisc"-type address that we can use for this if there are more people interested. (I set it up for students last year - but with BritDisc there is no longer any need.) If you would like to see/join the discussion that Kev expects to errupt from the above then send me a mail... with TOURNEY_GUIDELINES in the subject and the body - you know - so its clear! Then I will (manually) add you to list and it will all be much easier for all concerned. It won't be switched on for a day or so - so go on - flood my spool with requests to join.... If you have already mailed Scott - don't bother - he can fwd your address to me... (Scott?) -------------- In response to Laurence's report: > As nobody else seems to be bothered ... Rich will (I'm sure) be doing this soon - he is a busy chap. Chris (Burden): that will also cover the full results - sorry about the delay. > On Sunday we had much more fun. Did you have more fun because more games were against teams against which you were more closely matched? Or was it *only* the weather? > One point raised during play on Sunday- how's about a Finals > tournament for those teams who didn't qualify for the Hitchin final. If anyone would like to do this please do! Seriously though - it has been thought of, and if possible there may come a time when a non-finals tourney can go ahead at same venue as finals so as to increase spectators for finals AND give all those other teams another tourney. > It's getting to the stage where we're playing the same old teams all > the time and never getting to meet any of the southern teams, in fact > I don't think I've ever played against half the teams from the SE- > and withthe student make-up of our team meaning we're generally weak > over summer and autumn, I don't think we ever will. This however, I do not accept. F6 rarely practice outside ; and didn't enter many (any?) of this year's outdoor tourneys... its not easy to get student teams together - but its not impossible. Many teams have done it! If you don't go to the tourneys - how do expect to meet these teams? (I'll probably get horribly flamed for saying this - but I don't give a shit cos its true.) > On a similar divisive theme I, overheard at the w/e a mention of a > summer league next year featuring an elite top 8 teams. This is about the Ranking Tour that I alluded to in that email to Dave. It is NOT a league for elite top 8 teams. The reason it has been kept "strangely silent" is so that the idea gets an opportunity to be described in full without alarming (and inaccurate) rumours like this frightening people!!! Anyway, a better explanation will be in the next ultimatum. I imagine that you (Laurence) will be emailing me to get involved in the discussion about tourney guideline so that you can have your say... I refer you back to the comment above about your team's enjoyment of Sunday's play compared to Saturday... cheers Si
